High Intensity 144 Watt/48 LED Underwater Fishing Drop Light (12 – 14.5 VDC)
$219.95 – $229.95
- High Intensity: 48 incredibly bright – 3 Watt LEDs for a total of 144 Watts in white, green, aqua, or blue. The lumen output of this light varies depending on the LED color. Read our color section below to learn more.
- Easy-to-Use: Hookup to a standard 12VDC battery and throw this off the dock, boat, pool, etc. and watch this illuminate a 360° beam angle around the light.
- Fish Attractant: Lure fish right up under your boat or dock with this underwater light. Phytoplankton and various aquatic life are attracted to lights at night. A chum bag can be attached to make this an underwater fish feeder.
- Submersible: Completely epoxy embedded, this light is meant to be run underwater and requires direct water cooling. Out-of-water fishing lights reflect 40% of their light off the surface of the water losing valuable lumens. This light is depth rated to much deeper than the length of the cable.
- Quality Materials: (4) 12 LED/36 Watt boards, crystal clear temperature-grade epoxy, 35′ of 18 AWG heavy duty SJOOW cable with embedded strain relief (dependent on LED amount), heavy-duty vinyl end cap for protection, stainless wire eyelet for attaching float or chum bag, and 2 heavy-duty alligator clips for attaching to the battery.
- Multiple Applications: Can be dropped off the boat, dock, pool, trolled with a floatation device, or anything underwater. All it requires is a 12- 14.5 VDC charging or charged battery.
- Long-Lasting: LEDs consume less energy, have less electrical costs, last longer, and can target specific wavelengths of color when compared to traditional metal-halide/mercury vapor bulbs. The lighthead is fully epoxy embedded and indestructible, with heavy-duty marine-grade cable. This light will last a lifetime.
Loomis LED High-Intensity LED Underwater Fishing Drop Light (12 – 14.5 VDC)
Here at Loomis LED, we specialize in manufacturing underwater lights for various fishing applications. We offer a 48 LED/144 Watts Underwater Fishing Drop Light (12 – 14.5 VDC) with (48) 3-watt LEDs at a 360° beam angle and 35′ cord length. We offer a similar drop light that faces downwards in a 140° beam angle here.
Design
The light casts a 360-degree circle of light with (4) 12 LED/36 Watt custom LED boards forever embedded in crystal clear, never yellowing epoxy, for a lifetime of waterproofness. These lights are simply indestructible, we have beaten them with baseball bats only to have the wood splinter and not leave a mark. To use, hang/tie wrap off the boat or dock by the 200+lb rated cable which is 35′ long with heavy-duty alligator clips. We use top quality 3535 custom Cree LEDs and the green are rated/tested at 190 lumens each but I run them at a very conservative 130 lumens for longevity. LEDs are most efficient at lower power levels, where they produce 70% of their lumens in the first 1/2 power applied. We drive the LEDs at lower power both for longevity and to keep them cooler. Our new drop lights run just a couple of degrees above the water temperature.
Includes:
- (1) – 48 LED (144 Watts) epoxy embedded clear acrylic tube
- (1) – 35′ of 18 AWG heavy duty SJOOW cable with embedded strain relief
- (2) – heavy duty alligator clips for battery attach
- (1) – heavy duty vinyl end cap for protection
- (1) – stainless wire eyelet for attaching float or chum bag on the end
Fishing
For fishermen, this LED underwater fishing light can be used off the dock or boat in order to draw fish in. It will go down 35′ and can target different depths that fish swim at during the night. Fish are drawn to light due to phytoplankton in the water feeding on the light. Over time, more fish will discover the phytoplankton and larger fish will come to swim around the light. Therefore, you want to leave the light in a single location if possible so more and more fish will discover it for optimal results. This behaves very similarly to a bird feeder in that sense. Chum bags can also be attached to the stainless steel wire eyelet. That is why we call this light an underwater fish feeder! To learn more, read our article, “Why do Underwater Lights Attract Fish?” here.
Colors
Depending on the color, lumen outputs per LED will differ. Blue light is 50 lumens, aqua is 110, green is 130, and white is 180. Multiply the amount of LEDs times the lumen outputs per LED in order to determine how bright this light will be. We find that green attracts fish the most followed by aqua, white, then blue; therefore, green is the best color for fishermen.
Multiple Applications
Not only can this light be used for fishing, but it can also be used to light up your dock, pool, or really anything you want as long as it’s underwater. It is incredibly versatile and just requires a 12 VDC battery to run. A floatation device can be attached to the wire eyelet for trolling or keeping the light on the surface.
Easy to Use
This light hooks up to any standard 12 VDC marine or car type battery and can run off a charging or non-charging battery. For example, a charged 12 VDC battery has around 13 VDC, and if being actively charged, then voltage goes up to 14 – 15 VDC. Just clip the heavy-duty alligator clips to your positive and negative terminals on your 12VDC battery and watch it illuminate a huge area. Included with 35′ of heavy-duty 200+lb rated cable, you can throw this off the dock, boat, pool, etc. and watch this illuminate a 360° light circle.
Warranty Information
We include a full 2-year warranty that excludes return shipping, 150°F sensor activation, or voltage greater than 13 VDC. These drop lights can be operated out of the water for up to 5 minutes. However, if the lights left on without water cooling, for 10 – 15 minutes, the lights will reach 150°F and activate our thermal sticker which will damage the LEDs and void our 2-year warranty. Do not shorten the cable as it acts as a resistance to the battery and will break the light. Hooking up to anything other than a standard 12 VDC battery, or shortening the cable will damage the LEDs and void our warranty.
